Title: VMWare: auto-release & auto-connect shared dev Post by bantonac on Apr 10th, 2006, 7:34am We are using the eval version of USB-Over-Network on a VMWare GSX host. The USB device being shared is a licensing dongle. The guest virtual machine does connect to the shared USB dongle, but once the virtual machine is shut down the host server continues to report that the USB device is still connected to the guest vm. When the guest vm is restarted, it cannot reconnect because it is still "in use". Is there any way to force the server to poll for an active connection, or can we write a script that will force the server to disconnect the client when it is shut down? |

Title: Re: VMWare: auto-release & auto-connect shared Post by Andrew on Apr 11th, 2006, 12:18am Thank you for good question. Right now we are developing such functionality for our product and it will be realised in the next USB over Network version. We hope new version will be ready somewhere in couple weeks. |

Title: Re: VMWare: auto-release & auto-connect shared Post by bantonac on May 25th, 2006, 8:33am I updated to the latest version (2.2) but the server does not always release connection after the client (a vmware virtual machine) shuts down. It also doesn't consistently clear the connection when I stop the ftusbsrv service on the client. |
